Finally!!!

A year and a half between posts, that's not bad.

I've finally gotten my act together and remembered to 1) bring my digital camera to knit-night, 2) to take pictures of everyone, and 3) actually post about it the next day!

We have such a great group going at Bahr Creek, and this is only about half of us!

Enough talk, let's meet everyone:

First up is Phyllis. Phyllis is one of the three musketeers known as PhyllisJackieDarlene (which is actually now the four musketeers, PhyllisJackieDarleneSue.) They quilt, they knit, they play mahjong-I want to be them when I grow up. She is knitting a beautiful sweater out of some baby blue cotton.

Darlene is the queen of socks and brownies. (She makes some very yummy brownies!) She also knits a mean felted bag. I'll have to ask her to bring in her Einstein coat sometime, it's very cool. Here is the beginning of the next pair of socks:

Sue is knitting a beautiful shrug, and she is sooo close to finishing! Cheer her on! Sue has the most even gauge, soaks up knit technique like a sponge, and appears to have very good taste. I'm just getting to know her, but I categorize her under "dangerous", she'll definitely be one to watch!

Georgie is knitting an Alice Starmore vest for her newest little grandchild. I've known Georgie forever, and am so glad she has come to enrich our knitting group! She is a speedy knitter that gifts all of her grandchildren with hand knit sweaters. (And she has to be speedy, with 9 children of her own that's going to add up to a ton of grandchildren!)

Toni is one of our founding members of "knitting night". She is also the author of this blog. (Go there and harass her to post more often, in the nicest possible way of course) We tease Toni that she never-not-once has followed a pattern, but who needs a pattern when you can whip up beautiful knits like this:

Joanne is a neighbor of the yarn shop (speaking in country-terms that is) and makes the most beautiful scarves. This Saturday, she will be taking a sock class. Watch out! Tonight she has just started an Opera Scarf out of Baby Alpaca.

Joanne brings her neighbor, Marion, to knit night. She is an inspiration to us all (and a fellow yarn snob! ) She says she's never met a sweater she didn't like, and she'll knit anything, as long as it's a sweater. The sweater on her needles right now is Baby Alpaca.

Saving the best for last, we have Paulette. Paulette is our fearless knitter. She started knitting about a year ago, and jumped in head first! She has made countless felted bags, and is now on a hat kick. Her current project involved converting a knitted-flat-hat to a knitted-in-the-round-hat.

And I forgot to have someone take a picture of me, not that I mind, but I'll sneak in a picture of Birch. That's what I was working on last night.

Hello! It snowed last night here in Wisconsin. Everything is white. It's beautiful.

We are expecting a shipment from Cascade yarns this week! Maybe it will come today! We will now be carrying Cascade 220, Sierra, and Fixation! The only challenge will be finding a place to put it all!

Tomorrow is our Knit-In! We hold that on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 6pm until about 11 pm. There is no cost, and we have a lot of fun. Bring your own snack, or one to share. We do have a soda machine (a stocked dorm-size fridge on the honors system) or you can bring your own beverage too. There are a lot of knitters that come, but we welcome any thread-crafter. We do get the occasional weaver or spinner. People of all levels of experience will be there. It is a lot of fun checking out what everyone is working on. We hope to see you there!
